Drake Follows The Trend Of Hollywood-Style Game Trailers
After “Batman: Arkham City’s” stunning, Hollywood movie-resembling launch trailer last week, we thought we had seen the best of what video games have to offer. It looks like we’ve been proven wrong.
Naughty Dog stumbled out of the starting gate with an extremely disappointing debut trailer comprised of poorly edited scenes, transitions, and storyline-flow. However, April brought us the very impressive “Drake’s Fear” trailer, which changed our perspective of the game altogether. And now we have this, a Launch trailer that puts the majority of trailers out there to shame. Beginning with an introduction to the story and setting, this trailer slowly changes mood by quickening the pace of its scenes, adding action cuts, and building continuously upon an incredibly epic score. But other than the obviously exciting video sequences and supporting music, the unique copy throughout is just as impactful and further captivates the viewer by addressing the breaks in action and music to near perfection.
