Upon its launch date, it won’t matter the slightest if this game receives low marks, poor reviews, or brutal sales. And the truth is, the gaming industry as a whole could care less how this title does, which in this case, is not necessarily a bad thing. Instead, the makers behind “Dead Island” will be able to hold their heads high because they know they produced, quite possibly, the greatest video game trailer ever made. Take time and let those two words sink in… ever made.

Evoking emotions of love, fear, and happiness on their most primal level, all while doing so to a gut wrenching violin, this reverse ordered, zombie apocalypse tears at our heart a and f**ks with our head. Other games and movies have set the stage for the pending zombie attack, like “Left 4 Dead” and “28 Days/Weeks Later,” but none have been able to capture the true essence of raw human struggle like it is exhibited here in this three minute cinematic debut. Make sure to let this video buffer completely, because this monumental first-look trailer demands our full attention from start to finish without any breaks for emotional recuperation.
